iQIYI and Super Sports Media Collaborate to Boost Sports Content

Chinese sports fans have so much excitement to look forward to because the sports broadcaster, Super Sports Media, seals a partnership with mainstream Chinese video platform, iQIYI.

The collaboration will make premium coverages of tennis, football, and golf possible for customers in mainland China.

Yu Lingxiao, Super Sports Media president, expressed his delight in the tie-up. He affirmed that iQIYI is a robust brand and a leading player in the online video sector in China.

The company’s huge number of audience for their famous online dramas and original variety programs attest to this, Yu said.

The Super Sports Media-iQIYI collaboration’s CEO continued that the track record of Super Sports Media in covering online sports together with the multi-million users of iQIYI will certainly give fans the best sports programs.

Yu also said he is confident that viewers will have a much more improved spectating experience through these two best features of the two organizations.

iQIYI’s chief content executive, Wang Xiaohui, echoed the happiness of Yu apropos to the strategic partnership. He confirmed that it is a solid foundation for sports content investment.

Wang is looking forward to the establishment of a “super online sports platform,” made possible by membership services, sophisticated licensed content, advertising and event operations.

Responding to the vast development possibilities of streaming sports programs in China, the name of the entrepreneurial collaboration is Beijing Xin’ai Sports Media Technology Co.

The venture will facilitate the re-branding of iQIYI Sports and the upgrading of the Super Sports Media application.

The updated application will give sports fans live tennis coverage from the WTA Tour, ATP Tour, and the Australian Open.

Moreover, football enthusiasts will get their live coverage from the EFL Cup, the Premier League, and the UEFA Nations League.

Super Sports Media introduced the first-ever sports content pay-per-view service in 2013. It has served Chinese football enthusiasts live English Premier League games through different broadcast platforms.
