YouTube Levels Up in Content Creation With Marlon Wayans Channel

YouTube is entering a milestone as comedian Marlon Wayans announced that he would launch his sketch comedy channel on the video-sharing platform.

The new YouTube channel will include hilarious series produced by the comedy actor in collaboration with Shots Studios.

Wayans will be the featured performer giving the audience a daily dose of fun and laughter in the segments for the upcoming channel.

Digital talents managed by Shots Studios like Anwar Jibawi, Hannah Stocking, Lele Pons, and Rudy Mancuso may also join the comedy actor in the humorous series.

Wayans said that he is excited to introduce the audience to his new YouTube channel. He lauded Shots Studios for doing “amazing work with incredible talent.”

The comedian, actor, producer, and screenwriter expressed his intent in expanding his type of humor in the video-sharing platform’s arena.

Shots Studios’ co-founder, John Shahidi, remarked that with Wayans’s track record of making comedy films, he had always appreciated the actor’s work.

Jamie Byrne, the director of global creator and enterprise partnerships at YouTube, said that Wayans has the unique capability to reach out to people worldwide in a genuine manner.

Like Shahidi, he is also looking forward to seeing the multi-talented performer dole out his distinctive type of comic entertainment to the Google-owned video-sharing website.

Brothers John and Sam Shahidi established the Los Angeles-based Shots Studios. Brazilian popular music star Anitta, who is the topic of “Vai Anitta!” an upcoming docu-series in Netflix, Swedish DJ Alesso, and boxing champion Mike Tyson are among the talents in Shots’ lineup.

In 2017, the studios collaborated with Tyson to release a comedy video series also made available on YouTube.

The youngest of 10 children of the Wayans family who comprise actors, directors, comedians, and screenwriters, Wayans has been productively working for the past year.

He stars on his stand-up comedy “Woke-ish,” his NBC sitcom, “Marlon,” and “Naked,” his Netflix original movie.

The sketch comedy channel of the actor is a welcome development for YouTube.  It presents the video-sharing website graduating from being more than just a medium for music videos and vlogs.

YouTube is apparently now delving into original content creation capable of competing with streaming giants like Hulu and Netflix.
