British pay-TV industry players UKTV and Virgin TV have announced a new development in their collaboration benefitting Irish audiences.
The expanded partnership will enable Virgin Media Ireland subscribers to avail two new pay-TV channels.
Customers of Virgin TV can now watch programs on UKTV’s Really and Drama channels for the first time. These two networks join other UKTV channels like Alibi (channel 151), Dave (channel 122), Gold (channel 120), and W (channel 160).
Virgin Media Ireland viewers can also avail UKTV Play which is the on-demand and catch-up offering of UKTV.
With the inclusion of the Really and Drama channels, Virgin Media Ireland’s vice president, Paul Farrell, remarked that Virgin TV currently serves as the “go-to platform” for optimal entertainment.
Aiming to supply 24/7 and everywhere access as well as more options on content, he expressed his happiness to expand their leadership in the pay-TV industry through the provision of more UKTV programming.
The Really channel, now available on channel slot 165, is the major real-life network. Virgin Media Ireland viewers will be able to watch a wide range of exciting materials like lifestyle programs, stunning blue light documentaries, significant paranormal programs, and true-to-life crime tales.
Moreover, the Really channel broadcasts renowned programs like “Helicopter ER,” “Cops UK: Bodycam Squad,” and exclusive UKTV Originals.
Other shows also on offer are “Homes under the Hammer,” “Ghost Adventures,” and “Born to Kill.” Virgin Media Ireland audiences can enjoy exhilarating popular shows like “Criminal Confessions” and “Antiques Road Trip” as well.
Beginning in November, they can look forward to the forthcoming UKTV Original, “Fantasy Homes by the Sea.” The Irish audiences can also watch “Sarah Beeny’s Renovate Don’t Relocate” at the start of 2019.
Meanwhile, being a wellspring of modern, classic, and comedy stories from the olden times to the modern periods, the Drama channel is among the United Kingdom’s most-viewed non-public service broadcasting (PSB) channel.
Virgin Media Ireland consumers can now relish the most celebrated British TV dramas like “Pride and Prejudice,” “The Brokenwood Mysteries,” “The Heart Guy,” and “Father Brown.” They can access broadcasting the best drama programs on channel slot 164.
Simon Michaelides, UKTV’s chief commercial executive, said that the addition of the Drama and Really channels are a component of his company’s ongoing mission to give the British and Irish audiences the best in TV programming.
