Hulu With Live TV or Hulu On-Demand: Which is Best?

Hulu With Live TV or Hulu On-Demand: Which is Best?

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Hulu had announced recently that there would be a $10 price hike to the monthly subscription cost of their Hulu with Live TV service.

Hulu’s limited ad and ad-free subscription plans will not experience a price hike, however, as per Kevin Mayer, Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer Chairman.

Hulu with Live TV will now cost $54.99 a month. For this price, subscribers would get access to live TV streaming, as well as Hulu’s library of on-demand content. Without ads, this subscription will cost $60.99 per month.

Hulu with Live TV gives subscribers access to 60+ live channels, as well as Hulu’s content library. The ability to watch new episodes as they air on those channels, as well as content exclusive to live airings, are what sets Hulu with Live TV apart from regular Hulu.

Hulu with Live will also give customers access to a more expanded library, including complete older seasons and other additional content.

Finally, Hulu with Live will also enable users to record live content on the Cloud DVR for later viewing.

As for the Disney Bundle, it can be added to a Hulu with Live plan, as well as to the ad-free and limited ad plans, with the overall bundle costing $5.99 less than if one subscribed to its constituent services individually.

Overall, it would seem that Hulu with Live would be the better choice for individuals who frequently watch live TV, as well as those who would like to have access to a better content library.

For viewers who only watch live TV at select times during the year, however, Hulu recommends that they only switch to Hulu with Live during those viewing seasons, and then switch to the more affordable Hulu On-Demand plans to cut down on costs. Switching between subscription plans is as simple as going to the Account page and selecting “Manage Plan”.
