LOS GATOS, Calif. – With the most common question about the most popular live TV streaming services, Roku has named their top three.
According to Roku, the top three live streaming services in the US are Hulu, YouTube TV, and Sling TV. However, the slightly surprising news for some cord cutters is PlayStation Vue listed at the last place and going behind fuboTV, despite the streaming service not scheduled to shut down until after one month.
The current standing of PlayStation Vue from Roku’s list is a sharp fall since it was previously along with the levels of Sling TV, listed as one of the biggest live TV streaming services in all of America.
The list of the most popular live TV streaming services came from the post that Roku made on its website. The list was made based on the information Roku has gathered, such as the viewing habits of its users.
According to Roku, the most popular live TV streaming services are as follows: Hulu, Sling TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV (as well as AT&T TV NOW), Philo, fuboTV, and PlayStation Vue.
The list presented by Roku was also based on the data they have on the on-demand content it offers. Also, the Hulu placed on the number one spot backs the latest MoffettNathanson study, which stated that Hulu currently has more than 2.7 million subscribers, beating the number of subs of Sling TV.
Sling TV previously reported that it has around 2.6 million subscribers at the end of the third quarter this year. Yet, Hulu has been having a strong growth as Disney previously claimed that it is the fastest-growing streaming service right now.
On the other hand, AT&T TV NOW is holding strong in fourth place. The previously called DIRECTV NOW was predicted to become the biggest live TV streaming service in the US. However, that never happened as DIRECTV NOW began to lose a significant number of subscribers since early this year.
