Roku has been a consistent choice of streaming service for many over the years. Customers have access to a wide range of ad-supported channels, and a library of on-demand services that they can pay for in one bill. There is one more service that can now be added to that list of channels – AMC+.
Those who watch AMC+ will know the quality of content they provide, with shows such as The Walking Dead and Interview with the Vampire just to name a few. If you’re a horror fan, you will be happy to know about the access to ‘Shudder’, which every horror fan should own. Sundance Now will be available for those who enjoy dramas and thrillers, and IFC Films limited for independent film lovers.
AMC+ was available for Roku customers to buy and enjoy within the service, but now they will be able to have access to ad-supported AMC+ content automatically. Generally, the ad-supported AMC+ costs $4.99 per month and the ad-free version costs $8.99.
Roku are continuing to give their customers what they want, building on their strong Q2. The second quarter of the year saw revenues increase by $968 million, blowing all expectations out of the water.
The streaming giant were also able to add 2 million streaming households in Q1, taking the total to a whopping 83.6 million.
AMC+ have also been busy, and announced a streaming deal with live streaming service Philo at the start of the year. In similar fashion, Philo subscribers were able to access AMC, but not the ad-free service that has been added as part of their subscription.
Spectrum TV also struck a deal with AMC+, which gives Spectrum customers access to the service as part of their cable plans. The deal with AMC and Charter Communications gave Spectrum customers yet another free service included in their subscriptions.
