UC Irvine Team News

UC Irvine Anteaters posted their 31st win of the season when they defeated the 4th seed Kansas State Wildcats and proved why March Madness is so unpredictable. They are the top team in California and have advanced to the second round after a hard fought match. Evan Leonard scored consecutive 3 pointers to win against the Wildcats 70-64. This was the first tournament victory in the history of their school and it shows how far they have come. Evan Leonard and Max Hazzard are performing well and they most certainly did so against Kansas. The duo scored 19 points apiece to take their team to the second round. The coach is proud of their team but they are not satisfied. They are gonna go out there and qualify for the next round. It is highly possible after what they did in the first round. Lets see if they can put up an encore of that performance.

Oregon Team News

Oregon have won their 9th consecutive game. The team’s late surge has led them to the Pac 12 title and the team are looking for more than that. The team  won 4 games in just 4 days to qualify for the NCAA tournament. The team has a solid defense which is crucial when they face the Anteaters. Payton Prichard who scored 19 points whilst defeating the team seeded 5th will be expected to perform well along with Louis King who scored 17 points and Paul White who scored all of this 14 points in the second half of the game.  Kenny Wooten will be crucial in this game. He scored 9 points six rebounds and 4 blocks to set the tone of the game and win it to advance in the second round. Oregon have to be good at the back. If they manage to do that, they have a big chance of qualifying.
