Washington Team News

Washington advanced into the second round of the NCAA tournament beating the Utah State Aggies 78-61.  The Huskies returned to the tournament after 8 years and it could not have been more perfect. The team never had the game out of control winning the first half 40-28 and t he second 38-33. Noah Dickerson scored 20 points and 12 rebounds along with Jaylen Nowell who scored 19 and made 5. Matise Thybulle finished with 10 points, 5 steals and three blocks, he could have done more but his contribution surely helped the team surge forward. They are a really good team and are surely believing in themselves at this moment. They have not won two games in a row since 2010. Do they dare dream of the impossible? If they can beat the top seed then why not?

North Carolina Team News

The North Carolina Tar Heels lacked passion in the first half as said by their coach when they beat 16th seed Iona Gaels  88-73 in the first round match in the NCAA tournament. The Tar Heels trailed against No.16 seed Iona 38-33 before coming back to win the match in the second half where they scored 55 points to their opponents 35. This proves that not even a veteran top seed like Carolina is safe in this tournament. Cameron Johnson scored 21 points to save his team from embarrassment along with freshman Nassir Little who scored 19 points to take North Caroilna through. The team knows that the pressure is on them being the top seed but their coach wants them to play their natural game. Their  opponents are on a high and would surely like to take advantage of the Tar Heels recent fumble . The top seed will surely be ready though!!
