Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox Games Are Coming For Free!

It’s a good day for Chicago sports fans. Those who reside in Chicago will soon to be able to watch Chicago sports for free, and this will include their NBA, NHL and MLB.

Once the 2024 MLB season comes to a close, the partnership with NBC Sports Chicago will come to an end for all of the Chicago sports teams. By fall, you will be able to watch all of these sports via WJYS TV, through a new channel called “Chicago Sports Network”

Chicago Sports Network president Jason Coyle said. “Fan-first has been our north star,”  “We are making our content available on the platforms that our fans can watch. For those households who, for whatever reason, choose over-the-air as their primary viewing platform, they now have an opportunity to see the games and build even stronger connections with the teams and personalities they love.”

This deal comes as a result of negotiations between Chicago Sports Network and Standard Media Group, who own multiple channels in the country.  The deal will see Chicagoians watching their favourite teams on channels 62.2 and 62.3, and all they will need as an Antenna!

From October 1, CHSN will be available. This will come only one day after NBC Sports Chicago close their doors, with the Chicago White Sox ending their season a day prior to that.

There will even be some games exclusivley available on CHSN, and not available on ESPN, FOX, TNT, Apple TV or Roku Channel. So die-hard fans will never have to miss out on any games.

CHSN are also negotiating a carriage deal with DirecTV to provide services for their internet and satellite customers, which they would hope to finalize before October 1, which would allow Chicago sports fans to enjoy games outside of Chicago.

The deal with DirecTV is far from complete, but for now, Chicago-based fans can rejoice!
